Fire Dynamic Simulator (FDS) Cell Size Calculator

This calculator can be used to determine what value (cell size) works well in accordance with the FDS User Guide.

Lower cells result in a faster simulation will less accurate results. A D*/dx ratio of between 4 and 16 is desirable. The following ratio has been used:

Coarse = 4

Moderate = 10

Fine = 14
